Online pornography is the most pernicious threat facing our society today. A child armed with a cell phone and a computer with unrestricted access is just a click away from seeing horrendous images of pornography. The distance between awesome and awful is a click away. While 30% of youth view pornography intentionally, 70% of youth have accidentally come across it on the internet. Experts say the question is not “if” your child will see pornography but “when.” There are various reasons why people choose to look at pornography on the Internet:

Children look at it because they are curious, or peer pressure at school will cause them to look at it.
People use it for intimacy, escape, a need for power, fantasies.
People use it because it is free, accessible, normalized, and anonymous.
To fill a need that is not met.
The most significant sex organ is between your ears. The brain is where everything is formed and allows for arousal and pursuit of rewards, whether it’s drugs or porn. Somehow our society does not give enough consideration to the extent of the damage done to young people when they are exposed to pornography early in life. Studies have shown that after a short amount of time being exposed, the following adverse consequences may occur after watching porn.
Men begin to trivialize rape, and can develop an appetite for more deviant, violent, and bizarre types of porn— regular sex no longer satisfies them.
Men and boys who consume violent pornography are more likely to force another person to do something sexual online or in person.
Middle-school-aged boys who watch porn are more likely to have oral sex, intercourse, or assault siblings or other children.
Men can start to devalue the monogamy principle and view cheating as normal behavior.
A significant factor in the destruction of relationships is because of men's addiction to pornography.
Many women have checked their husbands or boyfriends computer to be horrified and shocked when they see massive libraries of pornography. In a survey of matrimonial lawyers, over 70% of divorce was because of porn addiction.
Since pornography is the most commonly viewed content on the Internet, it poses a significant threat to adults and children alike.

Pornography has been described as a visual portrayal of sexual activity for sexual stimulation, usually through videos. Porn fuels sex trafficking, child pornography, exploitation, and sexual violence.

It affects developing brains and shapes sexual behaviors for the rest of their lives. Pornography is not an innocent or harmless form of entertainment, in fact it is the foundation and the reason why girls are sexualized and sold like merchandise.

The addiction to porn today is at epidemic levels and growing daily. Pornography is highly addictive and progressively perverted, leading to increasingly deviant behavior in many cases. In the past porn was somewhat limited to magazines and video, but with the Internet and social media, hardcore porn is available and free to all, including your children.

The United States is one of the largest producers and consumers of child pornography. Child porn is violent and depicts horrific images of brutal child abuse. It is illegal to produce, solicit, distribute, receive or possess child pornography.

Child porn has evolved with the rise of the Internet, Social Media platforms, live streaming video and the addiction to Pornography. Exploitation has increased to epidemic levels and predators are trolling the Internet increasing the risks to children. The problem is complex and growing.
